Probiotic Healthy Smoothie

It isn't always about the taste! Sometimes it's about actually doing something your body will thank you for! Although in this case, it's super healthy and tastes pretty good if I say so myself.

With the right ingredients blended together you wouldn’t be able to tell that this was a veggie smoothie. It tastes very similar to a regular fruit smoothie, thanks to the addition of the banana and strawberries.

Regarding the veggies, you can buy pre-packaged power greens at Trader Joes. The packet literally has the words ‘POWER GREENS’ written on the front. If you can’t get this however, the best veggies to use are: Spinach, Kale leaves, Chard, Cucumbers, Carrots, Beets and Avocados.

I like to use frozen fruit for the convenience of buying a pre-packaged pack of assorted fruit but if you have fresh fruit handy that is even better! Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries are all great. I definitely recommend the banana to add silky sweetness to your smoothie and really mask the veggie flavor.

The recipe below is just a basic template but don’t be afraid to experiment using different fruit and adding in extra ingredients like nut butters, vanilla extract, protein powder, coconut milk or honey if you need that sweet kick.
